On the surface the latest collection displays a subtle play of light and shallow shapes detailing the abstracted beauty of the human form; distilled from many years experience of drawing and modelling the human form. At a deeper level however, the works allude to the dynamic internal forces at work in nature.
The works are an exploration into the everyday mysteries of human existence. One piece in particular "Inner Self" explicitly presents the internal and external views simultaneously. The outside is smooth and peaceful like a beautiful mountainside, while the inside displays rough dark passage ways like lava channels within a volcano ready to erupt.
In other pieces such as "Fertility", the dark dynamic forces are implicit in the pregnant female form.
This new collection marks a departure from the classical mythic symbolism of my previous commissioned works.
